Emil Edgren’s artistic career began long ago,

and officially started when he received a large

scholarship from the California School of Fine

Arts, which stimulated his career. 


He was a photojournalist documenting the events

of World War II, and was a member of the US Army

Pictorial Service for 4 1/2 years. 


He was a contracted photojournalist for

International News Photos, the Associated Press,

and the United Press International.


The San Francisco Call Bulletin, San Francisco

Examiner, and the San Jose Mercury News were

some of the news organizations that contracted

him for his photojournalism services.
